Quectel Wireless Solutions says it has sent cease-and-desist letters to Telit Cinterion, Thales Group, DBAY Advisors, the Liberty Bell Project and Charles Parton, demanding they stop spreading what the company calls false and defamatory statements about its product security and alleged ties to the Chinese government.
The letters accuse the recipients of orchestrating a coordinated disinformation campaign designed to damage Quectel’s business through “malicious falsehoods” and unfair competitive practices.

Quectel’s statement comes as the company has previously faced scrutiny in Washington, where U.S. lawmakers and a Department of Defense advisory list have raised concerns about potential links between the Chinese IoT supplier and China’s military or government, a characterization Quectel denies and says it will contest. The company said it supports fair competition and will defend itself against what it views as misleading claims that could harm customer relationships.
